Middle School Program Course Descriptions
“Physical activity is critical to the development and maintenance of good health. The goal of physical education is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity.”
--National Standards for Physical Education
At New School Preparatory, students receive instruction for a variety of activities based on previously learned skills. Activities vary from game play, team building, sports, and physical fitness testing. Students receive verbal instruction, a physical demonstration, and then participate. Each Sports Unit involves a variety of prerequisite activities and games.
New School Preparatory is also committed to providing students with opportunities to participate in competitive sports. Our focus is to develop each athlete's skills, self-discipline, and teamwork, while encouraging lifelong physical activity.
